SeaShorts is a film festival focussing only on Southeast Asian short films!

Other than film screenings, there are also forums, workshops, exhibitions, and music performances by filmmakers across the 5-day event.

It is a gathering for Southeast Asian film programmers and filmmakers, as we watch films on the big screen, talk about films, get to know each other - and perhaps eventually work together!

Why Young Filmmakers and Students Should Come To SeaShorts

Every year, SeaShorts shows more than 100 short films from all over Southeast Asia. The festival lasts 5 days, with some audience members watching films from 10am to 10pm. (That's dedication!)

It's a great opportunity to immerse young film enthusiasts and aspiring filmmakers in the culture, as they catch great works and meet like-minded individuals from the region.

A Place for Cinephiles

Is there anything better than watching fresh short films on a big screen in a dark room, with people who love cinema? Whether they are friends or strangers, there's something magical about sitting together as the screen lights up and the sound begins to play.

After-Screening Discussions with Programmers and Filmmakers

After each screening, the filmmakers are invited to share more about their films and to have a dialogue with the audience, encouraging thoughtful discussions and exchanges.

Forums and Masterclasses

We hold a diverse range of interesting and in-depth forums and masterclasses with established industry figures, who are keen to share what they know and enrich the film community.

Getting into Serious Discussions About Film

5 days of talking about cinema and everything else under the sun. This is the place to scratch that itch; analyse, theorise, and gush about film to your heart's content.

Getting Your Films Seen by People Who Care

A positive and nurturing environment, with people who are passionate about film and about empowering young filmmakers.

Getting Recognised by the Masters

Rubbing elbows with masters of the craft; a valuable experience for young filmmakers and film enthusiasts to have meaningful interactions with the people who have come before them.

More Than Just Films

Although we are crazy about films, there are other things too! SeaShorts is a celebration of art, including music, sound, and drawing.

Meeting Old Friends

Come to SeaShorts once and you will find yourself meeting old friends every year.

Making New Friends

If you are a young filmmaker, and you feel you don't belong, or you want to look for your kind - people who share your interests, who can understand your film and your passion, who you can work together with - come to SeaShorts!
